ICEE ICOM BOARD ELECTIONS 2022

Deadline for nominations extended to September 7
at 10 am EST to give candidates time after
the 2022 ICOM General Conference to
apply as board member.

Voting call publication date extended
to 11 September 2022 due to extended
application date.

The ICEE is seeking 5 new Board members for the 2022-2025 term, as well as co-chairs. The following document outlines the election and nomination procedures for the 2022 ICEE Board Elections.

About the ICEE Board

The ICEE Board consists of a maximum group of 10 elected board members including a (co)-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer as well as regular board members. The ICEE Board is a very active one. Over the past several years the ICEE Board has worked hard to engage its global network of international exhibition professionals, sharing relevant and interesting exhibition focused news on its social media platforms, providing a dynamic forum to share best practices in exhibition development through its 2020 webinar series, as well as hosting high quality annual conferences and workshops for its membership and the larger ICOM Community.

In addition to the roles of President, Secretary and Treasurer, ICEE Board members share a wide variety of tasks to promote and grow the work of the ICEE. Tasks include: Social media content development and coordination; Website management and development; ICEE Webinar series development, promotion and coordination; Participation on International and ICOM committee working groups; Coordination of ICEE elections; as well as an important number of tasks linked to the planning and management of the ICEE Annual Conference, including, but not limited to Content Planning, Travel Grant Coordination, Event Planning and Partnership development, Sponsorship Coordination and Hotel and Travel logistics.

The election status of the current 2019-2022 ICEE Board is as follows:

• Antonio Rodriguez (USA), President, two terms as President completed. Non-eligible for reelection. Seat vacant.
• Hanneke Kik (NETHERLANDS), Secretary, two terms completed. Seat vacant.
• Hillary Spencer (USA), Treasurer, two terms completed. Eligible for re-election as co-Chair.
• Amanda Mayne (UK), two terms completed. Eligible for       re-election as co-Chair.
• Marjo Meriluoto (FINLAND), one term completed. Eligible for re-election.
• Alanna Davidson (UK), one term completed. Eligible for re-election.
• Julie Leclair (CANADA), one term completed. Eligible for re-election.
• Francesca Polo (UK), one term completed. Seat vacant.
• Sarah Ozolins (AUSTRALIA), one term completed. Seat vacant.
• Unfilled seat. Seat vacant.

A new ICEE Board is elected every three years ahead of the ICOM triennial conference. Due to the covid-situation, the elections will now take place after the ICOM triennial conference as per request of ICOM General.

Board members can serve a 3-year term of office and a maximum of two consecutive terms, if elected. A member of the Board may subsequently be elected as the President of the committee.

The president of the committee is elected separately, which will be held at the same time as the board election. A person can serve as president of the committee at maximum for two (2) consecutive terms, if elected.

The tasks and responsibilities of the President have grown exponentially the past years. Therefore, the ICEE Board has decided to elect co-presidents/co-chairs for the coming term. The co-chairs have to be board members or former board members, and have to run for cochair as a duo.

ICEE Board Elections are organized by an election team consisting of 2 ICEE Board Members (Including the ICEE Secretary) and 2 ICEE members in good standing that are not part of the Board and are not seeking a Board position.

2022 Voting Procedure

Voting for the 2022 ICEE Board Elections will be done electronically. All ICEE voting members in good standing* will receive a link by email to vote in the ICEE elections. ICEE members are responsible for ensuring their contact information with ICOM is up-to-date. The ICEE will be in regular communication with members via its electronic newsletter and social media channels during the call for nominations and the voting period to ensure that all members are aware of elections and encouraged to vote.

Current board members up for re-election will be voted in or out of the board via a yes/no vote.

New candidates for the board will be either chosen by a yes/no vote if 5 candidates or less apply for a board position. If more than 5 candidates apply as board member, the candidates with the most votes will be elected to the board.

*Voting members in good standing have paid their membership dues to ICOM. Due to administrative challenges in coordinating membership information received from National Committees, the ICEE will use the list of voting members from the most recent membership list from ICOM Paris as well as the list of voting members from ICOM Paris as of the last day of the previous year (December 31, 2021). By using these two lists, we hope to be inclusive of members whose membership payments are still in process with National Committees.

2022 ICEE Board Elections will follow the following 5-step process:
